At 69-years-old, jeweller Michael Hill is sitting pretty well these days. According to the National Business Review he is worth $235 million.

But what has really got him excited at the moment is his 33 metre luxury super yacht, which anyone can hire - for a price of $2,500 per person, per night.

The kitchen is fully-equipped with two cooks on the go.

After the galley comes the formal dining room, with furniture designed in Queenstown and made in Invercargill and Christchurch.

The master bedroom comes equipped with TV, and en suite, along with a very comfortable bed.

The ship's artwork was hand-picked by Mr Hill's wife Christine. The couple was intimately involved in the yacht's design, which was almost entirely made in New Zealand.

For goal-orientated Michael Hill, owning this luxury item was always part of his master plan.

Judges have been wowed by the creation, praising Mr Hill for its out of the box thinking and design.
